The Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) was developed for research into cognitive functioning, but it has become a recognized tool for exploring analytical ability, social behavior, body concept, preferred defense mechanism and problem solving style as well as other areas.
We have created some downloadable pdf files for you to print and take the test. For now all you need to do is take the test. Please keep it in a safe place. At the end of the term we will send you a scoring key and discuss what it means as a part of our assessment lesson. The documents are scans of some paperwork that has been around for quite a while. While I apologize for the poor resolution I think they still serve the purpose. The idea is for you to to find the “basic forms” within the more complex items on the sheets. I know we have your curiosity up on this one and the one we did last cycle but it will all make more sense as we complete the course.
Below are links to each section of the test. The instructions include the simple/basic forms you are to locate within the more complex diagrams. Download the test sections to take the test. You may do the same for the keys, instructions, and scoring sheets but to have to. The basic forms you need to find are noted in each item. Draw your response on each item using pencil to identify the simple forms indicated. Confirm your participation via the survey found under the assignments tab for this cycle. This is not a timed test.

Take the practice test, then look at the answer key to check your answers. The intent is to show you how to take the test, not to indicate or predict how you will do on the remaining sections.
Sections 2 and 3 are the actual test. When you are ready take them (they are supposed to be timed but we will not need to do that for our purposes).
