It is understood that the PK12 environment\/needs MAY not be identical as for business and industry.<br \/>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus-square-1 su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Checklist<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\"><\/p>\n<h3>Purpose:<\/h3>\n<p>This design document details background information, expectations, deliverables, and methods for producing a unit of instruction (that may or may not include several modules and assignments). For the sake of argument the \u2018unit\u2019 could include any of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Simulations<\/li>\n<li>Emulations<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrations<\/li>\n<li>Lectures<\/li>\n<li>Activities\/Assignments<\/li>\n<li>Videos<\/li>\n<li>Train-the-Trainer (T3) Guides<\/li>\n<li>Training materials<\/li>\n<li>Handouts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Project Summary:<\/h3>\n<p>This project is being designed to meet a specific educational or training business need (define, as described below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>[Background]<\/li>\n<li>[Need]<\/li>\n<li>[Unit Goal]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Audience\/Learner Profile:<\/h3>\n<p>This project is being designed for a specific audience\/learner\/set of learners. Pick from the following considerations what may be applicable in your situation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>[Technology tool, application, hardware, etc.]<\/li>\n<li>[Human capital (course instructor, subject matter expert, developer, etc.)]<\/li>\n<li>[Learning environment, system, (i.e., CMS?), classroom space, lab]<\/li>\n<li>[Outsourcing (if appropriate)]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Maintenance:<\/h3>\n<p>Define what will happen after delivery.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>[Plan for managing change]<\/li>\n<li>[Ownership Roles (include copyrights and intellectual property rights)]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Timeline:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Include \u201cdrop-dead\u201d date and interim dates related to milestones.<\/li>\n<li>Issues \/ Risks:<br \/>\n&#8212;Potential risks and plan for risk mitigation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h3>Deliverables<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>During this course we have covered several considerations that may affect how instruction is designed, among them being:<span style=\"color: #800000;\"> <strong>E-LEARNING; LEARNING THEORIES; MOTIVATION; THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY\/MEDIA; VISUAL DESIGN; INSTRUCTIONAL DELIVERY, and OTHER EXISTING INSTRUCTIONAL MODELS<\/strong>.<\/span> We have designed the entire course around these in &#8216;cookbook&#8217; fashion and have provided you plenty of feedback.<strong> Your final project there must contain a reflection\/justification\/design narrative that indicates your thought process when you designed the instruction that includes the considerations\/aspects we reviewed throughout this semester.<\/strong> One way to ensure that you include all of them in your instructional analysis is to make a table\/check box and describe what about each of the six items went into your planning.<\/li>\n<li>The final artifact you submit should cover an instructional topic or teaching unit composed of several modules in a &#8216;catalog&#8217; of lessons (i.e., they all focus on accomplishing a common goal).<\/li>\n<li>The intent is for you to demonstrate that you know how to design instruction systematically. The over-arching principle would be for you to select one of the models covered in the final set of readings for the course (such as <a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ADDIE_Model\" target=\"_blank\">ADDIE<\/a>, as it contains four organizational principles that help organize the process (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation)). <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Which ever one you select, your final paper should include a short write-up of your justification for selecting the particular model on which you base your design.
