This cycle there are two lessons and two Training Activities… we are continuing with video editing. Besides competing the tutorials on video editing, you should be spending some time on your Book Trailer project. By now, you should have begun reading your book and should be well under way towards completing the video. Do not wait until the last cycle to begin. Your project will be graded as to quality, whether there are live scenes in it and whether is compares more or less favorably to the videos already posted on the digital booktalk site. We are expecting quality videos for this project.
Here are the deliverables for this cycle:
- Review the lesson on Visual Language of the Moving Image. Then complete the written assignment and post it into the drop box on Canvas.
- Review the lesson on compression/file formats. There is no deliverable for this lesson, but you will need this information for your final reflection that will be due at the end of this semester.
- This cycle we get to watch a movie. Citizen Kane has often been referred to as the greatest movie ever made. I have digitized it for you and provide a link to watch it. Like always, the password is 123456.
Once you finish viewing see of you can answer the questions in the self-check quiz. It is going to require that you do some digging on your own around the Web. No worries if you cannot answer them all. We will discuss next time we are together at the end of the term.
- Review the short lesson on storyboards then produce/assemble a coherent video using scenes that has been decomposed and posted in a random order to create a coherent story. Upload the self-playing video file (convert it to a Flash .flv format 480×320 aspect ratio) using the Easy Uploader and select assembly_project in the assignment drop down. Post your confirmation on Canvas.
